Eight Views of the Four Seasons is a series of eight panels by the Korean artist, An Gyeon. An Gyeon is well known for his landscape paintings and is considered one of the most influential painters in the Joseon Dynasty. In this particular painting, the four seasons are depicted through various landscapes, differentiating between the early and late periods of each season. An Gyeon’s use of different ink treatments and brushstrokes are conveyed through the paintings and progress the panels through each season. Overall, Eight Views of the Four Seasons is one of An Gyeon’s most famous works and showcases his skill and contribution to the Korean Renaissance.
